IRMER Training for Non-Medical Referrers to Radiology

These 1 hour courses are intended to provide training for prospective non-medical Referrers for diagnostic radiology procedures involving exposure of patients to ionising radiation (x-ray). This training is a prerequisite for recognition and entitlement to refer into the Radiology Department of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. It is suitable for registered health care professionals, such as nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, podiatrists. A certificate of attendance is issued.

    Radiation Protection Supervisor Training Course

    Leeds Medical Laser Safety Training course

    This course will cover the MHRA syllabus and is applicable to: medical, nursing, theatre practitioners, technologists and scientists involved in delivering and supporting medical laser treatment.

    Multiple Choice Assessment: Delegates would be expected to pass the MCA to obtain a full certificate. An attendance certificate will be provided to those that do not sit or fail the examination.
    Delegates can re-sit the test at their place of work provided they can demonstrate local invigilation arrangements.

    Registrations
    To reserve a place at the meeting, the registration form must be accompanied by the full registration fee payable (by cheque or a written Purchase Order from your finance department), where this applies.  If appropriate, registrations will not be accepted without payment. Please note all places are allocated on a first come first served basis and the number of places is usually limited to 15.

    Confirmation and Receipts
    After the registration booking deadline, we will send all delegates a confirmation e-mail which includes a map of the venue. If you have not heard from us by a week before the course date and you think you have registered please contact Heather Walton on 0113 2068957. A separate receipt (invoice in case of Purchase Orders) will be sent to you once payment has been processed.

    Cancellation Policy
    In the event of a cancellation a refund of the total fee paid less a £25.00 charge to cover administration costs will be made if cancellations are received in writing up to 1 week prior to the meeting.  After that date the full fee will be charged.  Substitutions can be made at any time free of charge.

    In the event of insufficient registrations, the Medical Physics department reserves the right to cancel or postpone the training course. This decision will be taken two weeks before the course date Any registration fees paid will be refunded but the Medical Physics Department in Leeds cannot reimburse any other expenses incurred.
